Stop this obvious conflict of interest!

In B.C. big corporations can lobby politicians, then hire them. This is illegal at the federal level. We need to update our ethics laws.

No wonder voters have a hard time trusting government decisions. Our ministers and bureaucrats are being recruited by the same companies they’re supposed to regulate.

When corporations hire senior decision-makers, they essentially buy a human shield. That person has insider knowledge and relationships that protect the company’s profits.

At the bare minimum we need a “cooling off period.” A delay of a couple years, so politicians can’t use their position to do favours for their future bosses.

BC Green Party leader Sonia Furstenau has tabled a bill that would update B.C.’s Conflict of Interest Act. Will more MLAs support these reforms?

Ask your MLA if they support updating B.C.’s Conflict of Interest law.
