Stop CGL: phone the Fisheries Minister

Coastal GasLink’s dams have failed on a tributary of the Skeena River, flooding a pipeline work site and dumping mud into salmon and steelhead spawning habitat.

Provincial regulators have lost control of the project. The federal Department of Fisheries and Oceans needs to shut down pipeline work in the Clore River – call minister Joyce Murray today.

Twice this month, Wet’suwet’en officials have caught Coastal GasLink running heavy machinery in the river with no sediment barrier. The river banks downstream are stained black with dirt.

Sediment smothers fish eggs. That’s why it’s a federal offence to release sediment in salmon spawning habitat. Call the DFO minister’s office and urge her to enforce the law.

Call Fisheries Minister Joyce Murray. Urge her to stop Coastal GasLink before they do more damage.
