About the convention

If you want to attend the BC NDP convention, you’ll have to act quickly. The first step is to attend the delegate selection meeting of your local NDP electoral district association. If you are still a member in good standing, you should have received an e-mail notice of the date and time. Check your e-mail now — many of the meetings are taking place in the next few days!

If you have questions, feel free to drop us a line at dogwood@dogwoodbc.ca.

Renewing your BC NDP membership – frequently asked questions

How do I know if I’m still a BC NDP member?

Your BC NDP membership lasts one year from the date you previously signed up or made a donation. However, if your membership has lapsed within 90 days of your upcoming AGM then you are still eligible to attend as a voting member if you renew your membership before the meeting.

If you are unsure of the date you signed up, you should have a membership application receipt in your email inbox that can confirm the date of your application.

If you are still in doubt, you can always contact the BC NDP’s central office and ask them to confirm that your membership is still valid.

How do I renew my membership?

You can easily renew your membership by filling out and submitting the form on this link.

What if I signed up as a member but never received any notifications of an upcoming AGM or Convention delegate selection meeting?

It’s possible that your membership has expired, in which case you can renew it and ask the Central Office to put you in touch with your EDA president so that you can get the details of any upcoming AGMs or Convention delegate selection meetings.

It’s also possible that the party may have denied your application or revoked your membership during the leadership race. If you want to re-apply, you can do so here

How do I find out which provincial electoral district I am?

If you are unsure of which provincial electoral district you are in, you can use the postal code search on the Elections BC website.

What if I have email proof that I am a member in good standing, however, I still have not received any email notifications from my EDA since I joined?

It’s likely your membership has expired, in which case you can renew it. Or the notices have ended up in your spam folder, in which case you should double check.

But there’s also a chance that your EDA executive has improperly excluded you from receiving important notifications, or your EDA is inactive. You can reach out to the Central Office and ask for help to get involved in your EDA and to ensure that you get the notifications you are entitled to receive.
