It’s time to Pipe Up Against Enbridge! Join with hundreds of No Tankers supporters at a rally and march in Vancouver on August 31st. It starts at 12:00pm at the corner of Burrard and Pender, and will finish at the Vancouver Art Gallery at about 1:00pm.

The rally is timed for a critical moment; it will coincide with the first regulatory hearing in BC on Enbridge’s tar sands pipeline and tanker project, and a simultaneous rally being held in Kitimat.

Our current federal government supports Enbridge’s oil pipeline and tanker project, and has given decision-making authority to a review panel comprised of three non-British Columbians. This rally will help send the message that the majority of people in this province have already made up our mind; and that our answer is no.

We need to set the tone for both the project review process, and the fall session of Parliament, where we hope our Liberal and NDP Members of Parliament can advance the permanent solution: a legislated ban on north coast oil tankers.

We’ve confirmed that some of these Lower Mainland MPs will have a presence at the rally; so you’ll have a chance to hear their individual and Party positions on the issue first hand.
