For years B.C. rubber-stamped pipelines, mines, fracking operations and toxic soil dumps with little regard for local communities. Our province has a reputation now with resource companies as a "Wild West" where anything goes.
But things are shifting. The new government is proposing a major overhaul to the way we review projects in British Columbia. They're taking public comments until 4 p.m. on Monday, July 30.
I sent them a letter and I hope you will do the same. We won't have another chance to update our antiquated environmental assessment laws.
Please take a few minutes to tell the provincial government what you stand for.
