Once again Coastal GasLink pipeline crews have been caught operating heavy equipment in the Clore River with no sediment barrier, violating their permits.

The company has been fined three times by provincial regulators for damage to salmon and steelhead habitat. Yet work continues faster than ever.

It’s time for the federal Department of Fisheries and Oceans to shut them down. They have the power to halt work at all Coastal GasLink water crossings, and enforce the Fisheries Act.

The Department of Fisheries and Oceans is trying to hide behind provincial regulators. That’s who’s supposed to monitor the Coastal GasLink pipeline.
