Tell the Prime Minister to stop borrowing billions of dollars to build Trans Mountain:
Oil prices are at historic lows and demand may never return to pre-COVID levels. But Justin Trudeau wants taxpayers to borrow billions of dollars to build a pipeline that no longer makes any economic sense.
Construction on the Trans Mountain pipeline has barely started. But already the cost has ballooned to $12.6 billion.
This is on top of $4.5 billion the government paid for the old pipeline when the private sector saw the writing on the wall and walked away from a bad investment.
Canadians don’t want to see their hard-earned tax dollars wasted on a white elephant. It’s time to change course while we still can, and invest those billions in clean, sustainable economic recovery projects.
