Note: The NEB has closed their public comment period.
Thank you to the thousands of people who took the time to make their voices heard. Together, we literally overwhelmed the board’s fax machine!
There will be another opportunity for public comment on the substance of the NEB’s review in the months to come, dates yet to be announced. We’ll keep you posted.
The federal courts quashed Justin Trudeau’s approval of the Trans Mountain pipeline and oil tanker expansion.
Now, he’s sent the project back for another rigged review by Harper’s National Energy Board.
The NEB is accepting public comments about their new review process, by fax, until Wednesday, October 3.
Last month, the Federal Court of Appeal found the previous NEB review of Trans Mountain was “so flawed,” the Trudeau government couldn’t legally rely upon it for their project approval.
So this time the board has to actually consider oil tankers in the scope of their review. (Duh!) They’re still planning to ignore climate change and human health risks though …
Give them a piece of your mind.
