YES, I call on Premier John Horgan to invest in COVID-19 recovery projects that advance B.C.’s climate goals and make our communities more resilient.

Build B.C. back better

The climate crisis has collided with a global pandemic, a devastating recession and an uprising against systemic racism. We can address all of these in our response to COVID-19.

We have a once-in-a-generation chance to build a healthier, fairer, greener province that is more resilient to the storms yet to come.

Indigenous-owned renewable energy projects. New affordable housing. Manufacturing electric buses. Youth planting trees and restoring salmon habitat.

These projects could put tens of thousands of people back to work in safe, healthy, well-paid jobs.

The provincial government has set aside $1.5 billion for COVID-19 recovery spending. Already big corporate lobbyists are in the Premier’s ear, pushing hard for the industries of the past to go to the front of the line. Tell the government to build a better province, not rush back to business as usual.
