Send a letter to the editor calling for an economic recovery plan that builds a more resilient B.C.

B.C. needs a resilient recovery, not business as usual

This is our chance to pivot. As we re-open the economy after COVID-19, we can rush back to normal — a system that was failing people and the planet — or we can move forward and rebuild a greener, fairer, stronger B.C.

The provincial government has earmarked $1.5 billion so far for economic recovery and big corporate lobbyists are already in Premier Horgan’s ear, pushing hard for a return to business as usual.

Let’s put people back to work, but better. Let’s create meaningful, well-paid jobs in every corner of the province. Let’s make sure the projects funded by our governments reduce greenhouse gas emissions. And let’s strengthen people’s security – access to food, decent housing, protection from natural disasters – while making sure we prioritize communities that were already in crisis before COVID-19.

Show the premier that everyday British Columbians are paying attention to his economic recovery plan and want to see their priorities reflected — not just those of big business.

Send a letter to the editor urging the provincial government to invest in COVID-19 recovery projects that advance B.C.’s climate goals and make our communities more resilient.
