The conversation around the Trans Mountain tanker and pipeline expansion is engineered to undermine thoughtful discussion. Please join Dogwood for a special panel discussion in Victoria to reconnect with the larger community. It’s time for us to deliver the counter-narrative — and new techniques for approaching tough conversations.
Join us and our expert panel for “Polluted Discourse: Building Grassroots Power amid Pipeline Propaganda”:
– Shannon Daub is the BC Director for the Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives and Co-Director for the Corporate Mapping Project. She’ll expose the money and power trying to drive a wedge between B.C and the rest of Canada.
– Andrew Gage is an environmental lawyer for West Coast Environmental Law and is the project lead for their Climate Change program. He’s known well for his leadership in mobilizing 20 city councils in BC to send letters to the top fossil fuel polluters which threaten to sue for damages caused by climate change.
– Kai Nagata is Dogwood’s Communications Director. Expect a frank, science and evidence-based exposé of the moment we’re in on TMX file. He’ll be sharing Dogwood’s approach on the way forward for climate action and upholding Indigenous rights. We’ll close with your questions and a discussion.
This event is free; however, space is limited. Please RSVP here.
