Join Dogwood volunteers at Vancouver’s largest Car Free Day festival (spanning 21 blocks!) on Main Street Sunday, June 17th.
Cars and busses will be re-routed and people will be free to wander Main Street. According to the event page there will be “15 stages and mini festivals along the entire street. This is a fun, family-friendly event with kid-zones, skateboarders, funky artisan shops and popular food vendors.”
Dogwood will be hosting a table in the heart of the action between 14th Ave. to 15th Ave on the WEST Side of the street. We’ll be talking to interested folks about Dogwood’s theory of change, informing people about our current campaigns, and providing people with petitions and other tools to protect the coast from the Kinder Morgan pipeline and more.
Training will be provided and brand new volunteers are encouraged to join! We’re planning to have games and street chalk, but fun ideas for public engagement are welcome.
Volunteers will begin setup at 11:30am and will be asked to table for 2 hour shifts. Once you RSVP for the event we’ll contact you with a sign up sheet listing shift times. The festival ends at 7pm.
So come out, chat, listen and learn at this wonderful community event that is sure to bring out a multitude of Vancouverites and visitors alike.
