Volunteer with Dogwood as our Car Free Day Coordinator!

Are you a Dogwood supporter who is also passionate about safe streets and complete communities? We have a fun, festival-focused volunteer role between May and July 2018.

Dogwood is recruiting a volunteer to help us organize in and around Vancouver’s Car Free Days this June and July. Between May 4 and July 4, we anticipate about 30 hours of work, including attending one or more Car Free Day Festivals in the Vancouver area.

Volunteer Responsibilities:

  • Manage our festival applications and liaise with the Vancouver Car Free Day Society
  • Collect enough signatures to host at least one Kits Block Party
  • Call, text, and email existing Dogwood volunteers to recruit them for Car Free Day tabling and organizing
  • Manage a Facebook group and mailing list for Dogwood volunteers taking part in Car Free Day
  • Delegate responsibilities to volunteers for each the festivals and provide training alongside Dogwood staff
  • Collaborate with Dogwood staff to create communications material, such as event postings, social media messages, and shareable graphics
  • Be present at Dogwood’s table for one or more Car Free Days
  • Track receipts and summarize all related expenses and donations
  • Produce a one-page post-event report with successes, failures, and recommendations for next year’s Car Free Day coordinator.
